The Kwankwasiyya Movement has dismissed reports claiming that former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, threatened to leave the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

The movement described the reports as rumours and maintained that Kwankwaso had not expressed dissatisfaction with the party.

Speaking on the matter, the group’s spokesman, Habibu Sale Mohammed, said neither the movement nor its leader was complaining about developments within the party.

The clarification follows reports alleging that tensions had emerged over the replacement of some candidates linked to the Kwankwasiyya bloc in Kano State.

According to the movement, party primaries were conducted in line with electoral guidelines, while candidates were adopted through agreements reached among party stakeholders where necessary.

The development reflects ongoing internal attention within the NDC following reports of disagreements surrounding candidate substitutions and party arrangements in Kano State.

As of the latest position issued by the movement, Kwankwaso had not communicated any intention to leave the party.
