Vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso says his nomination has been successfully uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal after a meeting with Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, reaffirming the party’s readiness for the 2027 presidential election.

Vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has confirmed that his nomination has been successfully uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal. He disclosed this after hosting the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, at his Abuja residence, describing the development as another milestone in the party’s preparations for the 2027 general election.

Kwankwaso said the successful upload of his details officially places the NDC’s presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on the commission’s nomination portal.

He added that discussions with Dickson focused on strengthening party unity, deepening consultations with stakeholders and sustaining momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

The confirmation comes days after INEC granted eligible political parties access to its candidate nomination portal, allowing them to upload the names and particulars of candidates contesting various elective offices.

The NDC has consistently maintained that it remains committed to participating in the 2027 elections despite ongoing legal proceedings concerning the party’s registration.

Kwankwaso thanked the party leadership for its confidence in him and reaffirmed his commitment to working with the presidential candidate, Peter Obi, toward what he described as a united vision for Nigeria.

The NDC leadership also reiterated that the successful upload of its presidential and vice-presidential candidates demonstrates the party’s determination to remain fully engaged in the electoral process.

The upload of Kwankwaso’s nomination completes another key administrative requirement for the NDC ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Party leaders say attention will now shift to nationwide campaigns and continued compliance with INEC’s electoral timetable.
