She made the remarks while performing the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Computer Science Complex at Al-Qalam University, Katsina, where she highlighted Buhari’s long-standing commitment to expanding educational opportunities across Nigeria.
According to Aisha Buhari, her late husband consistently viewed education as the foundation for national development and invested significantly in policies and programmes aimed at improving access to quality learning.
She said Buhari believed that empowering young people through education would create lasting economic growth, strengthen institutions and prepare future generations to contribute meaningfully to national progress.
The former First Lady urged Nigerians, particularly students, to sustain the values of hard work, discipline and learning that she said the late President promoted throughout his years in public service.
The remarks came during the unveiling of a new Computer Science Complex at Al-Qalam University, an institution established to promote higher education and research in northern Nigeria.
