The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for consistently releasing funds for approved projects, saying the President never abandoned the FCT Administration and has ensured that infrastructure projects receive timely financing. Wike made the remarks during the commissioning of projects marking the administration’s anniversary.

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as unwavering support for infrastructure development in Abuja, saying the President has consistently released funds for projects without unnecessary delays.

Speaking during the inauguration of completed road projects in the FCT, Wike said the administration’s achievements were possible because approved projects received the financial backing needed for execution.

According to Wike, the Tinubu administration has maintained a policy of ensuring that once projects are approved, funding is made available promptly, allowing contractors to complete work within agreed timelines.

He said this approach has helped eliminate the long-standing culture of abandoned public projects, enabling the FCT Administration to commission roads, bridges, water infrastructure and other capital projects across Abuja and the satellite towns.

The minister’s comments came during the ongoing commissioning of infrastructure projects delivered under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Tinubu, represented at several of the commissioning ceremonies by senior government officials, has repeatedly praised Wike’s performance, saying the minister has transformed project delivery in the Federal Capital Territory by ensuring continuity, supervision and timely completion of projects.

Wike said the FCT Administration remains committed to completing all ongoing projects and expanding infrastructure development across the territory.

President Tinubu also reiterated that the era of abandoned government projects is over, stressing that approved projects will continue to receive funding until completion as part of his administration’s development agenda.

The exchange between President Tinubu and Minister Wike reflects the close working relationship between both leaders on infrastructure delivery in the Federal Capital Territory. As more projects are commissioned, the administration maintains that sustained funding and project continuity remain central to its development strategy.
