African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has unveiled part of his 2027 manifesto, proposing the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) to oversee Nigeria’s public finances and drone technology to strengthen national security if elected president.
Omoyele Sowore has announced an unconventional technology-driven governance proposal ahead of the 2027 presidential election, saying his administration would rely heavily on artificial intelligence and drone technology to fight corruption, improve transparency and modernise public administration.
In a series of posts on his verified X account, the former presidential candidate said AI would function as the country’s “Minister of Finance,” while drone technology would serve as “Minister of Defence.”
AI to Manage Public Finances
According to Sowore, artificial intelligence would eliminate human interference in government finances by making transparent, data-driven decisions.
He argued that AI would continuously audit government accounts, detect suspicious transactions in real time and expose procurement fraud before public funds are diverted.
“The AI will eliminate human manipulation, waste, and corruption in public finance by making data-driven, transparent decisions,” Sowore wrote.
Drone Technology for National Security
On security, the AAC candidate proposed using advanced drone technology to improve surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid response to security threats.
According to him, drones would redefine Nigeria’s defence architecture through modern monitoring systems, precision operations and greater accountability in security management.
Blockchain to Fight Corruption
Sowore also proposed integrating blockchain technology into government operations, saying every public transaction, contract, budget allocation and expenditure would be permanently recorded in an immutable public ledger.
He maintained that combining blockchain with AI would make corruption easier to detect and significantly harder to conceal.
Technology-Driven Governance
The former presidential candidate said his vision is to reduce bureaucracy, improve efficiency and make government more transparent through technology.
However, while AI and drones can be integrated into government operations, Nigeria’s Constitution currently provides that ministers are human appointees nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Sowore did not explain how his proposal would operate within the existing constitutional framework.
