The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will usher in a new leadership on Friday, July 31, 2026, as outgoing Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede formally hands over to his successor, Prof. Segun Aina, bringing an end to his two-term tenure.
JAMB announced that the official handover ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. and will be broadcast live on the Board’s official social media platforms, describing the event as a significant milestone in the agency’s history.
End of a Decade-Long Tenure
Oloyede, who assumed office as JAMB Registrar in 2016, completes the maximum two terms permitted for the position after overseeing extensive reforms in the examination body. During his tenure, JAMB introduced stronger digital systems, improved transparency and increased remittances to the Federal Government.
Aina Takes the Helm
Prof. Segun Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering, was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in May 2026 to succeed Oloyede.
According to the Presidency, Aina brings expertise in digital infrastructure, examination systems and institutional reforms, and is expected to build on the technological transformation initiated by his predecessor.
