The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will, from Saturday, August 1, publish the personal particulars (Form EC9) of all presidential, Senate and House of Representatives candidates for the 2027 general election, giving Nigerians an opportunity to scrutinise their credentials and other submitted documents.
The commission said the publication is in line with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates INEC to display candidates’ personal particulars for public inspection within 21 days of receiving them. The documents will be available at INEC state offices and constituency offices across the country.
Public Invited to Scrutinise Candidates
INEC explained that the published documents will include candidates’ affidavits, educational qualifications, work history and other personal particulars submitted during the nomination process.
The exercise is designed to promote transparency and allow members of the public to raise objections where necessary through the legal process if they discover discrepancies.
Governorship Candidates to Follow Later
The electoral commission also announced that the personal particulars of governorship and State House of Assembly candidates will be published later in August, in accordance with the revised electoral timetable.

The publication marks another major milestone in preparations for the 2027 general election as political parties intensify campaigns nationwide.
INEC urged Nigerians to take advantage of the inspection period to promote transparency and strengthen confidence in the electoral process.
