The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its final list of National Assembly candidates for the 2027 general elections, dropping former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam, former House of Representatives member Gbenga Elegbeleye and 24 other aspirants following the party’s review of primary election appeals. The revised list has been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved and forwarded its final list of National Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), replacing 26 aspirants, including former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam and former House of Representatives member Gbenga Elegbeleye. The changes followed recommendations from the party’s Primary Election Appeal Committee.

According to the revised list, the substitutions affect seven senatorial districts and 19 House of Representatives constituencies across Benue, Ondo, Kogi, Abia, Taraba, Niger, Kwara, Kaduna and Ebonyi states.

The APC said the changes were approved by its National Working Committee after reviewing petitions arising from the recently concluded primaries. The final list was transmitted to INEC in a joint letter signed by National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Ajibola Basiru.

The party explained that the adjustments were made in line with the Electoral Act and INEC’s nomination guidelines after the Appeal Committee reviewed complaints from aspirants who challenged the outcome of the primaries.

The submission comes as political parties conclude candidate nominations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC maintained that the revised list represents the party’s final position on the affected constituencies and urged all candidates and stakeholders to support the decisions reached through its internal appeal process.

Party officials also directed successful candidates to complete and submit all required INEC nomination documents within the stipulated timeframe.

The release of the final National Assembly candidates’ list marks another major milestone in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections. While some aspirants welcomed the outcome, others affected by the substitutions are expected to explore the party’s internal mechanisms and legal options where necessary.
