Viktor Gyokeres scores twice as Arsenal deliver dominant first-half performance to strengthen title push

Arsenal moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League table following a commanding 3–0 victory over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The result further intensifies the title race, with second-placed Manchester City holding games in hand.

The hosts secured the win with all three goals coming in the first half, led by a standout performance from Viktor Gyokeres, who netted twice. Bukayo Saka also contributed with a goal and an assist in his return to the starting lineup, playing a key role in Arsenal’s attacking dominance.

Gyokeres opened the scoring early, finishing from close range after being set up by Saka. The pair combined again before halftime, this time with Gyokeres assisting Saka to double the lead. The Swedish striker then completed his brace in stoppage time of the first half, heading in from a Leandro Trossard cross.

Arsenal controlled proceedings throughout, easing the intensity in the second half after establishing a comfortable lead. The victory takes Mikel Arteta’s side to 76 points from 35 matches, while Manchester City remain six points behind with two games in hand, keeping the title race finely balanced.

The result also marks a significant boost for Arsenal’s goal difference, which could prove decisive as the season nears its conclusion. Fulham, meanwhile, struggled to create meaningful chances and remain mid-table.

Arsenal will now turn their focus to upcoming fixtures, including a crucial Champions League clash, as they seek to maintain momentum in both domestic and European competitions.

With only a handful of matches remaining, Arsenal’s emphatic win reinforces their title credentials, though the race remains open with Manchester City still in pursuit.
