Liverpool have completed the signing of French international forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in one of the biggest transfers of the summer window.
The Premier League club confirmed the deal on Monday after Barcola completed his medical and signed a long-term contract at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre. The transfer remains subject to international clearance.
The deal has been widely reported at around £120 million, while The Times and other British reports put the potential value at up to £123 million, including add-ons.
Barcola, 23, arrives at Anfield after three seasons with PSG, where he developed into one of the club’s leading attacking players.
He made 152 appearances for the French champions, scoring 39 goals and providing 35 assists during his spell in Paris, according to Liverpool’s official announcement.
His time at PSG was also marked by considerable team success. Barcola won consecutive Champions League titles with the club, alongside three successive Ligue 1 championships and two French Cups.
His professional career began at Olympique Lyonnais, where he came through the club’s academy before making his senior debut in November 2021. He eventually established himself in Lyon’s first team before completing his move to PSG in August 2023.
Barcola has also become an established France international. He made his senior debut in 2024 and has since accumulated 28 appearances and six goals for Les Bleus.
Liverpool’s official account said three of his international goals came during France’s run at the 2026 World Cup, where the team finished fourth.
The French forward is capable of operating in several attacking positions and is particularly noted for his pace, direct running and ability to take on defenders.
His arrival represents another major investment by Liverpool as new manager Andoni Iraola continues to reshape the squad.
Reuters described Barcola as Liverpool’s latest major attacking addition, following other significant recruitment during the transfer window. The club is looking to rebuild after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season despite substantial spending.
Barcola said joining Liverpool was a source of great pride and identified winning the Premier League as one of his biggest ambitions.
He also spoke about the atmosphere at Anfield, recalling previous appearances at the stadium and the support shown by Liverpool supporters.
The forward has chosen the No. 29 shirt, continuing to use the number he previously wore at PSG.
Liverpool will now hope that Barcola can quickly adapt to the pace and physical demands of English football and reproduce the attacking output that made him one of PSG’s most sought-after players.
The transfer is another indication of Liverpool’s ambition under Iraola as the club seeks to challenge for major honours and improve on last season’s disappointing league finish.
