Fresh controversy has emerged over President Bola Tinubu’s educational records following the publication of the credentials and personal particulars of candidates for the 2027 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
A review of the documents released by INEC shows that Tinubu’s Form EC9 contains his university qualification but does not provide details of the primary and secondary schools he attended.
According to the documents, Tinubu listed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chicago State University in the United States, with the qualification stated as having been obtained in 1979.
However, the sections relating to his primary and secondary education have generated attention.
BusinessDay reported that Tinubu’s Form EC9 recorded “0000” for the years he attended primary and secondary school, while his university qualification was listed as having been obtained in 1979.
The development has revived debate over the President’s educational history, an issue that has previously featured prominently in Nigerian political discourse.
