Afrobeats star Davido has responded to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo after the governor mocked Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over his dancing during the ongoing Osun governorship campaign.
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo following the governor’s remarks about his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Okpebholo had mocked Adeleke over his frequent dancing, questioning whether Osun residents were satisfied with the governor’s style of leadership.
The Edo governor made the remarks while campaigning ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election, repeatedly referring to Adeleke’s dancing and linking him politically to former Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Davido Responds
Davido responded by sharing an image referencing Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result, turning the governor’s comments about Adeleke into a fresh social media exchange.
The singer’s response quickly drew attention online, particularly because the dispute shifted from political criticism of Adeleke’s public conduct to questions surrounding educational records.
The exchange comes at a time when politicians and public figures have increasingly used social media to campaign, criticise opponents and respond to political attacks.
