NDC National Leader Seriake Dickson says the APC would face defeat in a credible 2027 election, while insisting the party will challenge attempts to nullify its registration and remain on the ballot.
The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would suffer a major defeat if the 2027 general election is conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. He made the remarks while reacting to the recent Federal High Court judgment affecting the NDC’s registration.
Dickson said many Nigerians are dissatisfied with the performance of the current administration, arguing that the true test of the APC’s popularity would be a transparent electoral process. He maintained that the opposition remains prepared to participate in the next general election despite the legal challenge surrounding the NDC.
He also dismissed the court ruling that set aside the judgment compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC, describing the legal challenge as politically motivated and reiterating the party’s intention to contest the decision through the appellate process.
Dickson’s comments come as the NDC continues consultations following the court decision that affected its registration. The legal dispute has become a central issue in the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections, with its leadership maintaining that it will pursue all lawful remedies available.
According to Dickson, the NDC’s candidates will be on the ballot despite the ongoing litigation. He said the party would continue its legal challenge against the judgment while urging electoral authorities to ensure a credible and transparent process ahead of the 2027 general election.
The NDC leadership has maintained that the court ruling will be challenged through the appropriate legal channels, while reaffirming its commitment to participating in the 2027 elections as the legal process unfolds.
