National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has congratulated the party’s leadership and members following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) upload of the party’s approved logo.
Dickson said the development followed a High Court order directing the electoral commission to recognise the party’s approved identity.
The former Bayelsa State governor said the logo had been approved in accordance with the NDC’s constitution and ratified by its National Executive Committee (NEC).
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Dickson expressed appreciation to the Nigerian judiciary and INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, alongside members of the commission, for complying with the court judgment.
He also commended NDC National Chairman Senator Moses Cleopas and members of the party’s NEC for their efforts during the dispute over the party’s logo.
The development follows an earlier legal dispute in which the NDC challenged INEC’s decision concerning its modified logo. A Federal High Court subsequently directed the commission to upload and use the party’s modified digital logo.
Dickson described INEC’s latest action as an important development for the party as political parties prepare for the 2027 general elections.
