Folashade Tinubu-Ojo Demands Urgent Probe, Alleges Manipulation in Lagos APC Primaries
Tension is escalating inside the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu and Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, threatened to mobilise protests over the outcome of the party’s primaries.
The shocking development has triggered fresh controversy within the ruling party, with allegations that some results announced during the primaries did not reflect the true outcome of the exercise. Tinubu-Ojo openly questioned the credibility of results from key constituencies, insisting that candidates allegedly backed by grassroots supporters were unfairly denied victory.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, the market leaders’ association expressed anger over what they described as “manipulated outcomes” allegedly favouring candidates linked to certain political blocs within the APC. Tinubu-Ojo reportedly warned that traders and supporters were prepared to stage protests if urgent action was not taken.
The controversy is already fueling fears of deeper cracks within Lagos APC ahead of the 2027 elections. Political observers say the public disagreement involving the President’s daughter could expose internal power struggles that have quietly existed within the party for years.
The disputed constituencies reportedly include Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Agege Constituency 2, and Ojokoro, where aggrieved supporters insist the announced winners did not emerge fairly. The party leadership is yet to release a detailed response to the growing backlash.
As reactions continue pouring in across social media, many Nigerians are now watching closely to see whether the APC leadership will launch an investigation or move swiftly to calm the growing tension threatening party unity in Lagos.
