Osun State Government raises alarm over alleged political violence as tension rises in the capital
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised alarm over what he described as renewed attacks on public infrastructure in Osogbo by suspected political thugs linked to the opposition.
The governor, in a strongly worded statement, condemned the alleged destruction of government properties, describing the incidents as a deliberate attempt to destabilise peace in the state capital.
Osogbo, the heart of Osun State, Nigeria, has reportedly witnessed rising political tension in recent weeks, with residents expressing concern over recurring incidents of vandalism and intimidation.
Governor Adeleke has now directed security agencies to immediately arrest those responsible and intensify surveillance across flashpoint areas. He warned that his administration will not tolerate any form of political violence or lawlessness.
The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) has yet to respond officially to the allegations, but the situation has already sparked heated reactions across political circles and social media.
Security agencies are expected to step up operations as residents call for swift intervention to prevent further escalation.
