The outspoken South African politician questioned anti-migrant narratives during a fiery statement now trending online.

South African opposition leader Julius Malema has stirred major reactions on social media after challenging citizens blaming migrants for unemployment in the country.

Speaking during a public address, Malema questioned claims that foreign nationals were responsible for South Africa’s economic struggles, using Ghanaians as an example.

“Ghanaians are gone now, 300 of them. How many 300 jobs were created after the Ghanaians left?” he asked, in remarks that have since gone viral across African social media platforms.

His comments immediately sparked heated debate online, with some supporting his position while others insisted undocumented migration remains a serious concern for local employment opportunities.

The statement comes amid rising tensions in South Africa over immigration, unemployment and economic hardship, issues that continue to dominate political conversations ahead of future elections.
