The Lagos State chapter of the City Boy Movement (CBM) has been inaugurated with a pledge to mobilise millions of votes across the South-West in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, held at Marcellina’s Place in Ikeja, attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, local government chairmen, youth leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the event, Lagos Coordinator of the City Boy Movement and Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Ogunlewe, said the movement was established not only to mobilise electoral support but also to empower young Nigerians to participate actively in national development.
Targets Millions of Votes
South-West Coordinator of the movement, Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, said the region had set an ambitious target of delivering at least eight million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
He urged members of the newly inaugurated Lagos chapter to take the campaign to every community across the state and serve as ambassadors for the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Youth Mobilisation a Key Objective
National Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Tosin Shoga, described the inauguration as another milestone in expanding youth participation in governance and politics.
According to him, the movement seeks to bridge the gap between government and grassroots communities while encouraging greater civic engagement among young Nigerians.
Support for Tinubu’s Re-election
Organisers said the Lagos chapter will coordinate mobilisation efforts across the state as part of wider preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The event featured party stakeholders and local government officials who pledged to strengthen grassroots structures in support of President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
