Organisation says consultations will guide presidential campaign activities
The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation has said its activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election will focus on policy issues and consultations with citizens and stakeholders across Nigeria.
The organisation disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja addressed by Tony Ehilebo, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Governor Seyi Makinde.
Campaign plans
According to the organisation, its proposed engagements will involve consultations with communities, civil society groups, political stakeholders and other sections of the public.
The group said the approach would be designed to ensure that its campaign reflects issues affecting citizens across different regions and sectors.
The announcement comes as political parties and aspirants intensify preparations for the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for January 16, 2027, according to the information supplied for the report.
Importance of policy commitments
Issue-based campaigns typically require candidates to provide clear positions on the economy, security, education, infrastructure, healthcare and institutional reform.
The campaign organisation’s stated commitment to broad-based consultation will need to be assessed against the policy documents, public engagements and concrete proposals it releases as the election approaches.
Further details on the organisation’s campaign timetable, policy priorities and consultation framework would help clarify how the strategy will be implemented.
