Senator Ali Ndume has criticised the quality of some officials surrounding President Bola Tinubu, arguing that the administration’s difficulties are being worsened by what he described as incompetent aides.
The Borno South senator made the comments while discussing recent controversies surrounding alleged fake government agencies operating within the Presidency.
Ndume argued that the presence of what he described as incapable officials could continue to expose the President to embarrassment unless steps are taken to address the situation.
According to reports of his interview on Arise Television, the senator said the discovery of alleged fake agencies demonstrated weaknesses within the government’s administrative structure.
The controversy follows the government’s investigation into an alleged fake agency operating within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The development has already led to government action, including the suspension of officials, while investigators continue to examine how the alleged structure operated within government premises.
Ndume argued that the President should take stronger action against officials responsible for such failures.
His criticism adds to a growing debate within political circles over the quality of governance around the Tinubu administration, particularly as the government prepares for the 2027 election.
The senator’s comments, however, represent his political assessment of the administration and should not be interpreted as an independent finding that all officials around the President are incompetent.
