The Osun APC says reports suggesting President Tinubu backed Governor Ademola Adeleke for re-election are false.

The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for another term in office ahead of the state’s next governorship election.

The party insisted that President Tinubu’s support remains with APC governorship hopeful Bola Oyebamiji, amid increasing political activity ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship race.

The clarification followed reports and social media claims alleging that the President had backed Adeleke despite his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party. The APC described the reports as misleading and inconsistent with the party’s political position in the state.

The development adds another layer to the growing political tension surrounding alignments and endorsements ahead of the governorship contest in Osun State. Recent weeks have seen heightened exchanges between political actors across party lines as campaigns and consultations intensify.

Party stakeholders maintained that Oyebamiji remains the preferred candidate within the APC structure in Osun.

At the time of filing this report, there was no official response from Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding the latest APC statement.
