Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi has unveiled his vision for a “productive and prosperous Nigeria,” promising far-reaching reforms in education, healthcare, industrialisation and governance if elected in the 2027 presidential election. His roadmap focuses on human capital development, national unity and economic transformation.

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has unveiled what he described as a comprehensive vision for building a “productive and prosperous Nigeria,” pledging to prioritise education, healthcare, industrialisation and inclusive governance if elected president in 2027. In a statement released on Wednesday to mark the beginning of July, Obi said his administration would focus on restoring hope and rebuilding the nation’s economy through responsible leadership.

Obi said his proposed roadmap is anchored on the principles of unity, inclusion, social justice, equity and accountability, stressing that every Nigerian should have the opportunity to pursue lawful aspirations in a secure and enabling environment.

He promised to strengthen investment in education and healthcare, expand technical and vocational education, accelerate industrialisation and create jobs by supporting local production and improving electricity generation. Obi also pledged to curb abuse in government and improve the quality of life for Nigerians through prudent management of public resources.

According to Obi, his decision to seek the presidency is driven by a commitment to place Nigeria on the path of national unity and sustainable development. He said he would, in the coming weeks and months, unveil a detailed policy roadmap covering key sectors of the economy and governance.

The former Anambra State governor maintained that Nigeria possesses the human and natural resources needed for prosperity if managed with competence, transparency and integrity.

Obi assured Nigerians that his administration, if elected, would focus on human capital development as the foundation for economic growth while promoting policies that encourage investment, entrepreneurship and inclusive governance.

He also reiterated his commitment to presenting detailed policy proposals throughout the campaign period to explain how his administration intends to address insecurity, unemployment, poor infrastructure and declining living standards.

With political campaigns gradually gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Obi’s vision statement outlines the broad policy direction he intends to pursue if elected. The NDC candidate says the coming months will provide Nigerians with a clearer picture of his plans to transform the country’s economy, strengthen institutions and improve citizens’ welfare.
