Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has been formally charged in the United Kingdom with five alleged sexual offences, according to confirmation from Snaresbrook Crown Court in London.
The charges comprise one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The court’s Admin Team Leader, James Baker, confirmed the charges in correspondence with PUNCH, stating that the case has been listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026.
Snaresbrook Crown Court has also imposed a reporting restriction designed to protect the anonymity of the complainant under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992. This means information capable of identifying the complainant cannot be published.
The latest development provides the clearest confirmation yet of the specific charges facing the entertainer, following earlier reports that he was being held in the UK and was due to appear before the London court. The court had previously confirmed that the matter was scheduled for September 15 without publicly disclosing the specific offences.
Poco Lee’s management has also urged the public to be cautious about unverified information surrounding the case. His representatives specifically disputed online claims that drink-spiking formed part of the charges, saying those claims were not contained in the charges confirmed by the court.
The proceedings remain ongoing, and Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence. The allegations must therefore be determined through the UK judicial process, with the entertainer presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
His next scheduled appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court is September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation.
