The Nigeria Police Force has provided N13.53 million in financial assistance to families of police officers who died in the line of duty in Osun State.
The cheques, totalling N13,531,081.10, were presented to beneficiaries at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo on Friday evening.
The intervention was presented as part of welfare measures designed to support the next of kin of police personnel who lost their lives while serving.

The presentation was conducted by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zungura.
The beneficiaries comprised families of police officers whose deaths occurred while carrying out their official duties.
The financial support is intended to provide immediate assistance to relatives dealing with the loss of police personnel who died while serving the country.
Police welfare programme
The intervention forms part of welfare measures associated with Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
Financial assistance to families of officers who die in service is among measures used by the police to support personnel and their dependants.
For families of officers killed while performing their duties, such assistance can provide short-term financial support while other administrative and welfare processes are addressed.
The Osun presentation also highlights the risks faced by police personnel operating in a security environment that requires officers to respond to crime and other emergencies across the country.
