The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that bandits could attempt to block the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in July or August, urging security agencies to remain vigilant.

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned of a possible security threat on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, saying bandits may attempt to block the highway in either July or August. He called on security agencies to remain alert and take proactive measures.

Ayodele made the remarks during a Sunday church service at the church’s headquarters. According to a video of the service later shared on his official social media platforms, the cleric said he did not know the exact timing but urged security agencies to pay close attention to the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In his remarks, he specifically referenced July or August as the period during which the attempted attack could occur.

The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is one of Nigeria’s busiest transport corridors, linking Lagos with several South-West states and serving as a major route for commercial and private travel. Ayodele’s comments come amid ongoing national concerns over insecurity and attacks on highways in different parts of the country.

During the service, Ayodele urged security agencies to take note of the warning and strengthen surveillance along the expressway.

As of the time of reporting, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Federal Government had issued an official security advisory in response to the cleric’s remarks.

The warning adds to a series of public prophecies issued by Ayodele on national security matters. Government authorities have not announced any specific threat relating to the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, while security agencies continue routine operations across major highways.
