The leave marks the first time Shettima is taking an extended vacation since becoming Nigeria’s Vice President in May 2023.

Shettima assumed office alongside President Tinubu in May 2023 and has remained active in government affairs since the beginning of the administration.

The Vice President’s leave was approved by President Tinubu, in keeping with the constitutional and administrative arrangement governing the Presidency.

Shettima’s Role in Administration
Since taking office, Shettima has represented the President at several domestic and international engagements and has frequently led government delegations on economic and investment-related matters.
