Allied Peoples Movement wins remaining seat in Bauchi State
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the winners of the legislative bye-elections held across five constituencies in Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) won four of the five seats contested on Saturday, September 19, 2026, while the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) secured the remaining seat in Bauchi State. Multiple reports identified the winners and confirmed the 4–1 distribution.
APC candidates declared winners
The APC candidates reported to have won the elections are:
- Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a — Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency, Gombe State.
- Husseini Datti — Dawakin Kudu State Constituency, Kano State.
- Okolosi Ator — Udu State Constituency, Delta State.
- Yakubu Ali — Disina State Constituency, Bauchi State.

The five contests comprised one federal constituency election and four state constituency elections.
President welcomes results
Tinubu said the results demonstrated what he described as continued confidence in the APC and its governing agenda.
The President also urged the successful candidates to justify the mandates given to them by voters and focus on representing their constituents.
The APC leadership similarly congratulated its candidates, describing the victories as a call to service and commending party members, campaign teams and voters.
Significance ahead of 2027
The bye-election results provide the APC with an opportunity to assess its grassroots structures and political organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, the results were recorded in five specific constituencies and should not automatically be interpreted as a direct measure of nationwide electoral preferences.
The conduct of the elections, voter participation and the performance of the elected representatives will remain relevant to subsequent assessments of the political landscape.
