President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday received the leadership of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) at the State House, Abuja, where he declared that his administration has stabilised the economy, repositioned the country’s security architecture and placed Nigeria on the path to prosperity.

The delegation was led by the President of the CBCN and Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, who met with the President to discuss national issues, including security, education and governance.
‘We Have Stabilised Nigeria’ — Tinubu
Speaking during the meeting, President Tinubu said his administration inherited significant economic and fiscal challenges but has since restored stability and prevented the country from sliding into bankruptcy.
According to the President, ongoing economic reforms have improved public confidence, while interventions such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) are helping families and expanding access to education. He also assured the bishops that his administration would continue implementing policies aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.
Security, Education Top Discussions
Tinubu acknowledged the concerns raised by the bishops regarding insecurity and education, describing them as key priorities of his administration.
He said the Federal Government is restructuring the nation’s security architecture to improve operational efficiency and intensify the fight against terrorism, banditry and kidnapping across the country.

The meeting formed part of ongoing engagements between the Presidency and major religious stakeholders on issues affecting national development.
The CBCN is the umbrella body of Catholic bishops in Nigeria and regularly interfaces with government on matters relating to peace, social justice, education and national unity.
