President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to building and leaving behind a peaceful, united and prosperous country.
Tinubu delivered the message through Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Sunday at the Interdenominational Church Service held in Abuja as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The service was held under the theme, “Anchored in Hope: The Path to Divine Stability and Shared Prosperity,” drawn from Hebrews 6:19.

Representing the President, Akpabio conveyed Tinubu’s message of hope and commitment to Nigeria’s continued development.
The President’s message came as the Federal Government’s Independence Anniversary programme focused on the theme of consolidating reforms and translating them into greater opportunities and improved living conditions for Nigerians.
The government has described the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey since independence while highlighting ongoing economic and institutional reforms.
Independence Anniversary Programme
The Federal Government has adopted a low-key programme for the 66th Independence Anniversary.
Activities began with a World Press Conference on September 24, followed by the Juma’at Service on September 25 and the Interdenominational Church Service on September 27.
An Independence Day public lecture is scheduled for September 30, while Tinubu is expected to deliver a nationwide broadcast on October 1.
Tinubu, who is seeking another term in the 2027 presidential election, has repeatedly presented his administration’s economic reforms as part of a broader effort to reposition the Nigerian economy.
The administration has identified infrastructure, agriculture, education, digital skills, consumer credit, energy and enterprise as areas of focus under its reform programme.
The Independence service therefore combined religious reflection with messages centred on national unity, hope, stability and shared prosperity.
