PBAT Door-to-Door Movement Says ADC Candidate Should Address Questions Over His Past
The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027, a support group campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, has challenged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to travel to the United States and address controversies surrounding his alleged links to issues that emerged during the corruption investigation involving former US Congressman William Jefferson.
The group made the demand as political exchanges between supporters of Tinubu and Atiku intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Support Group Challenges Atiku
The group said Atiku should be prepared to answer questions surrounding his past as he seeks to become Nigeria’s president under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The campaign organisation argued that candidates seeking the presidency should be prepared to face public scrutiny concerning their political and business history.
The group specifically referenced the US investigation and prosecution involving former Congressman William Jefferson.
William Jefferson Case
Jefferson, a former US congressman, was convicted in the United States in a corruption case involving bribery and other offences.
