A 31-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving as a teacher at a private school in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has been arrested and arraigned over the alleged sexual abuse of a six-year-old girl.

Reports indicate that the suspect was serving at a school located off Jakpa Road in the area when the alleged incidents occurred.

According to accounts surrounding the case, the child allegedly told investigators that the suspect took her to an apartment within the school premises on several occasions when her mother arrived late to pick her up.

The allegations are now before the relevant authorities, with the suspect facing legal proceedings.

The case has generated concern because of the age of the alleged victim and the fact that the suspect was serving in an educational environment.

Reports indicate that the matter was brought before a court in Effurun, Delta State.

The allegations remain subject to judicial determination, and the suspect is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty by a competent court.

Authorities are expected to continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the case and determine the appropriate legal action.
