The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out successful airstrikes that destroyed a terrorist base in the North-East, as part of ongoing military operations aimed at weakening insurgent activities in the region.
The operation was conducted under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, with precision strikes targeting identified terrorist enclaves, logistics hubs, and hideouts used by insurgent groups operating in Borno State and surrounding areas.
According to military sources, the strikes were executed following credible intelligence and sustained surveillance, which confirmed the presence of fighters and concealed infrastructure used to support attacks against civilians and security forces.
The Air Force said its aircraft engaged the targets after positive identification, destroying structures hidden in forested terrain and along remote corridors often used for movement and coordination by insurgents.
The latest operation is part of intensified aerial campaigns in the North-East, where the military has continued to rely on intelligence-driven air power to disrupt terrorist mobility and supply chains while supporting ground troops engaged in clearance operations.
Officials added that the strikes are designed to deny terrorist groups safe havens and reduce their ability to regroup or launch coordinated attacks on surrounding communities.
The Nigerian Air Force has in recent months stepped up aerial missions across Borno, targeting known hotspots such as Sambisa Forest and the Tumbuns, where insurgent factions remain active despite ongoing counter-insurgency efforts.
As military pressure continues to mount, authorities say sustained air operations will remain central to degrading insurgent capabilities and restoring stability across Nigeria’s North-East.
