Security operatives intensify search after fresh killings in Kankia communities

Police in Katsina State have launched a manhunt for suspected bandits following a deadly attack on communities in Kankia Local Government Area. Authorities confirmed that at least 11 people were killed during the latest assault.

The State Commissioner of Police ordered intensified operations, with additional tactical teams deployed and ongoing bush-combing efforts to track down fleeing suspects. Security forces had earlier repelled attempted attacks and recovered livestock and motorcycles linked to the assailants.

The incident adds to persistent insecurity in parts of northwest Nigeria, where bandit attacks, kidnappings, and reprisals have continued despite ongoing security operations.

Authorities say efforts are underway to restore calm as the search for the attackers continues.
