At least 11 people have been killed in a reprisal attack by suspected bandits on communities in Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State. The attack occurred amid ongoing insecurity in parts of the state.

Security sources say the assailants stormed the affected villages, unleashing violence on residents in what is believed to be a retaliatory strike. Details of the full extent of damage are still emerging as authorities assess the situation.

The incident adds to a series of deadly attacks in Katsina, where rural communities have repeatedly come under assault despite sustained military and police operations in the region.
