ARISE Television anchor Rufai Oseni has criticised Peter Obi’s recent television interview, arguing that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate failed to clearly explain how he would tackle Nigeria’s major challenges if elected in 2027.
Rufai Oseni has weighed in on Peter Obi’s interview on Channels Television, saying the former Anambra State governor did not sufficiently explain the practical steps behind his campaign promises.
Speaking during ARISE TV’s Morning Show, Oseni stressed that with the 2027 general election drawing closer, Nigerians should expect presidential candidates to move beyond broad promises and present detailed policy roadmaps.
‘We Need the How’
Oseni said candidates should focus on explaining the methodology behind their proposals rather than simply listing what they intend to achieve.
According to him:
“We can’t run a country on vibes… We are not seeing proper articulation of how you will do it.”
He argued that discussions should centre on the feasibility and workability of proposed policies, particularly in critical sectors such as electricity, security and the economy.
Calls for Detailed Manifestos
The broadcaster noted that with only a few months before the election, Nigerians should already be seeing comprehensive manifestos and implementation strategies from presidential hopefuls.
He also dismissed the common argument by candidates that they cannot reveal “operational details,” saying what voters require are broad policy frameworks and implementation methods—not confidential security plans.

Peter Obi’s interview has continued to generate mixed reactions across the political spectrum. While supporters praised his vision and message, critics—including Oseni—argued that he should provide more concrete explanations on how he intends to implement his proposed reforms.
