Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar emerged ahead of Peter Obi and other options in a 24-hour online poll organised by the Tinubu Must Go (TMG) movement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to figures released by the organisers, the poll ran from September 24 to 25 and recorded 109,799 responses.
The reported results showed Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi receiving 80,809 votes, representing 73.6 per cent of the total.
The Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso ticket recorded 24,519 votes, or 22.3 per cent, while other options received 4,471 votes, representing 4.1 per cent.
What the Figures Show
The results indicate that the Atiku/Amaechi ticket received the largest share of votes among the options presented in that particular online poll.
However, the exercise was organised by the Tinubu Must Go movement and conducted online. Its results should therefore be understood as the outcome of that specific poll rather than as a representative national survey of Nigerian voters.
The poll does not establish nationwide voting intentions, electoral strength or the eventual outcome of the 2027 election.
2027 Political Contest Intensifies
The figures nevertheless illustrate the intensity of online political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Atiku is contesting the presidency on the ADC platform, while Peter Obi is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also expected to seek another term, setting the stage for a competitive political contest involving several emerging alliances and political platforms.
