The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke was declared the winner on Sunday morning at the INEC State Collation Centre in Osogbo after results from all 30 local government areas were collated.
According to the final results announced by INEC:
- Accord — Ademola Adeleke: 511,067 votes
- APC — Bola Oyebamiji: 444,815 votes
- ADC — Najeem Salaam: 17,180 votes
Adeleke defeated his closest challenger, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, by 66,252 votes. He also secured victories in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas.
The victory gives Adeleke another four-year mandate to govern Osun State, following a closely watched contest in which the Accord candidate and the APC’s Oyebamiji emerged as the dominant contenders.
INEC’s declaration formally concludes the collation and declaration stage of the governorship election, with the commission’s State Returning Officer announcing the candidate with the highest valid votes as the winner.
The result marks another major electoral victory for Adeleke as he retains control of Osun State for a second term.
