The governor and his deputy, Monisade Afuye, take fresh oaths of office as Oyebanji promises improved governance and greater democratic dividends.
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has been sworn in for a second term, pledging to strengthen service delivery and improve the welfare of residents during his renewed tenure.
Oyebanji and his deputy, Monisade Afuye, took their oaths of allegiance and office on Friday at a ceremony held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The oaths were administered by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Adekanye Ogunmoyе, marking the formal commencement of their second term in office.
During the inauguration, Oyebanji pledged to build on his administration’s record and pursue policies aimed at improving the lives of residents across the state.
The governor said his second term would provide an opportunity to deepen governance efforts and deliver greater democratic dividends to the people of Ekiti.
The administration’s performance will be assessed against its commitments on infrastructure, education, healthcare, employment, economic development and other priorities affecting residents.
A second term also places renewed responsibility on the governor to demonstrate measurable progress, strengthen public institutions and ensure that government programmes produce tangible benefits across communities.
For residents, the central test of the new tenure will be whether the promises made at the inauguration translate into improved public services, expanded economic opportunities and better living conditions.
