The APC says President Bola Tinubu will personally attend campaign rallies in 12 states, while other party leaders are expected to represent him at events elsewhere.
President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to attend All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rallies in 12 states ahead of the 2027 general election, according to the party’s campaign timetable.
The timetable, released on Thursday, outlines a nationwide campaign programme beginning in Kaduna State on October 24, 2026, with party leaders and members of the Presidential Campaign Council expected to cover additional states.
The schedule follows Tinubu’s indication at the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council that he might not accompany the campaign team to every rally, citing the need to balance campaign activities with his responsibilities as president.
Under the timetable, Tinubu is expected to attend rallies in Kaduna, Rivers, Plateau, Oyo, Borno, Enugu, Bauchi, Sokoto, Delta, Kano, Adamawa and Lagos.
Other rallies are scheduled to take place across the remaining states, where members of the APC campaign leadership are expected to mobilise support for the President’s re-election bid.
The arrangement places significant responsibility on the party’s campaign officials and state-level political leaders to coordinate mobilisation efforts beyond the locations Tinubu is scheduled to visit personally.
The campaign is expected to focus on the administration’s record, its ongoing reforms and its plans for a second term, while opposition parties are preparing to challenge the President’s bid for re-election.
Tinubu’s planned absence from some rallies has also generated political debate over the role an incumbent president should play in nationwide electioneering while remaining responsible for the day-to-day administration of the country.
The published timetable indicates that the President will not attend every state rally. It does not, by itself, establish that he will be absent from every state outside the 12 listed for his personal appearances.
