Police intensify investigation into viral extrajudicial killing that shocked Nigerians nationwide.

Fresh drama has erupted in the controversial killing of 28-year-old Oghenemine Ogidi in Delta State as police reportedly arrested two suspects linked to the Beretta pistol and ammunition involved in the tragic incident.

According to emerging reports, one of those arrested is believed to be the sender of the firearm from Bayelsa State, while investigators are also probing the role of transport operators connected to the movement of the weapon into Effurun.

The case sparked nationwide outrage after disturbing videos surfaced online allegedly showing ASP Nuhu Usman fatally shooting Ogidi at close range despite the victim reportedly being restrained and pleading for his life.

Sources revealed that the newly arrested suspects were moved into the Effurun Area Command as authorities widen investigations into how the firearm was transported and who else may have been involved in the operation.

The incident has further intensified public anger over alleged police brutality and extrajudicial killings in Nigeria, with many Nigerians demanding justice for the deceased. Human rights advocates have also called for transparency in the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command had earlier confirmed the detention of ASP Nuhu Usman following public backlash and viral footage contradicting the initial police narrative surrounding the incident.
