Presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala has criticised Peter Obi’s recent interview on Channels Television, describing the former Anambra State governor’s performance as uninspiring and lacking substance while also taking a swipe at the interviewer.
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has mocked Peter Obi over his recent appearance on Channels Television, arguing that the interview failed to convince Nigerians of the opposition leader’s readiness for office.
In a post on his verified X account, Bwala accused the interviewer of asking soft questions and alleged that Obi failed to provide concrete solutions to Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
‘He Sounded Boring’
Reacting to the interview, Bwala wrote:
“Again as predictable, the interviewer with double standard turned up as a massage therapist… the interviewee sounded boring with no substance.”
He further claimed that despite what he described as a favourable interview, Obi failed to make a compelling case for his candidacy.
Criticism of Interview Format
Bwala also criticised the interviewer, suggesting the questions lacked rigor and did not sufficiently challenge Obi on policy issues.
According to him, the interview failed to generate meaningful discussion on key national concerns, including electricity, governance and economic reforms.
Obi Yet to Respond
As of the time of filing this report, Peter Obi had not publicly responded to Bwala’s comments.
The exchange has, however, generated mixed reactions on social media, with supporters of both men defending their respective positions.
