Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has revealed his ambition to release two songs every month, explaining that consistent output is essential for artists seeking to establish themselves and compete at the highest level of the music industry.

The singer made the remarks while discussing the demands of building a successful music career and the need for emerging artists to maintain a steady presence in an increasingly competitive entertainment market.

Mr Eazi pointed to established performers, including Davido, as examples of artists who continue working consistently to maintain their positions in the industry.

“I want to release two songs every month. Those at the top like Davido are always working constantly to stay there. He has released so many songs this year alone. How much more those of us who aren’t there yet?” he said.

His comments highlight the pressure on musicians to remain visible, connect with audiences and continually introduce new material in an industry shaped by streaming platforms, social media and rapidly changing listener preferences.

For emerging and developing artists, regular releases can provide opportunities to test new sounds, reach different audiences and sustain engagement between major projects.

However, maintaining such a schedule also requires careful planning, from songwriting and production to marketing, distribution and performance commitments. Releasing music frequently does not automatically guarantee commercial success, as audience reception, quality, promotion and the ability to build a distinctive identity also influence an artist’s progress.

Mr Eazi has built a career spanning music and entrepreneurship, becoming one of the Nigerian artists associated with the international expansion of Afrobeats.

His remarks suggest that he sees consistency as an important part of the work required to reach the next level of his career.

The proposed release schedule would represent a demanding pace, requiring him to balance productivity with the creative development and promotion necessary to give each song a meaningful opportunity to reach listeners.
