Fear spreads across Nasarawa State University community after armed attackers invaded students’ lodge at night.

Fresh panic has erupted in Nasarawa State after armed men reportedly stormed a students’ lodge and abducted six students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, alongside one visitor during a terrifying midnight attack.

The shocking incident occurred in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area, where the victims were said to be residing off-campus before the attackers invaded the area under the cover of darkness. Residents reportedly fled in fear as gunshots shattered the quiet atmosphere during the operation.

Sources within the university community revealed that the gunmen forcefully whisked away the victims, leaving behind confusion, fear, and emotional trauma among students and residents. The attack has once again reignited concerns over the worsening insecurity affecting students across Nigeria.

Students and parents have since demanded urgent action from security agencies and the Nasarawa State Government, warning that campuses and student environments are becoming increasingly unsafe. Some students reportedly threatened protests, insisting they can no longer study under constant fear of abduction.

The latest kidnapping adds to the growing list of attacks targeting schools and young Nigerians in different parts of the country. Security analysts warn that repeated incidents of student abductions could damage confidence in Nigeria’s educational system and further discourage parents from sending their children to school.

As of the time of filing this report, security operatives were said to be intensifying efforts to rescue the victims and track down the attackers, while tension continues to spread across the university community.
