A northern-based advocacy organisation, the Northern Alliance for Peace and Security (NAPS), has praised the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, and the Nigerian Armed Forces for what it described as sustained progress in military operations against terrorism, banditry and kidnapping across the country. The group said recent rescue missions and offensive operations demonstrate renewed momentum in the fight against insecurity.

The Northern Alliance for Peace and Security has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Armed Forces, saying recent military operations have resulted in significant gains against terrorists, armed bandits and kidnappers operating in different parts of the country.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the group’s National President, Mallam Danladi Abutu, said the Armed Forces, under the leadership of Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, had demonstrated renewed commitment to restoring peace and public confidence through sustained offensive operations.

According to the group, recent operations have led to the rescue of hundreds of abducted victims and the neutralisation of numerous armed criminals across the North-East and North-West.

The organisation specifically cited successful rescue missions, including worshippers kidnapped in Ekiti State, residents abducted in Gwoza, Borno State, and women kidnapped in Askira Uba, describing the operations as evidence of improved coordination and operational effectiveness by the military.

The commendation comes amid intensified military operations against insurgents, bandits and kidnapping syndicates across several parts of Nigeria.

While security challenges persist, recent operations have resulted in the recovery of abducted persons, the destruction of criminal hideouts and increased military offensives in conflict-prone areas, particularly in the North-East and North-West.

Mallam Danladi Abutu urged Nigerians to continue supporting the Armed Forces by providing credible intelligence to security agencies, stressing that community cooperation remains essential in the fight against insecurity.

He said the recent achievements should reassure citizens that the military remains committed to defeating terrorists, bandits and other criminal groups threatening lives and livelihoods across the country.

The group’s endorsement adds to the growing public recognition of recent military operations as security agencies continue efforts to combat insurgency, banditry and kidnapping nationwide. Authorities have maintained that offensive operations will continue alongside intelligence-driven strategies aimed at improving safety and restoring stability in affected communities.
