Opposition party claims FCT Minister threatened to shut down venue billed for Goodluck Jonathan’s ratification event.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, threatened to shut down A Class Event Centre in Abuja over plans to host the party’s presidential candidate ratification ceremony for former President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to the party, the venue management allegedly came under pressure following arrangements for the planned event.

The PDP claimed the threat was linked to the proposed ratification ceremony expected to formally endorse Jonathan ahead of the 2027 political process.

The development adds to the growing political tension within opposition circles and comes amid increasing speculation over possible alignments ahead of the next presidential election.

Neither Wike nor officials of the FCT Administration had publicly responded to the allegation at the time of filing this report.
