The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has disclosed that the nine people killed during Saturday night’s attack on Kum Community in Riyom Local Government Area were members of his extended family, describing the massacre as one of the most painful tragedies his family has endured.

Fresh details have emerged from the deadly attack on Kum Community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State after a prominent Christian leader revealed that nearly all those killed were his relatives.

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi LGA, said the victims belonged to his extended family, describing the attack as another devastating blow to communities already grappling with persistent violence.

Speaking after the attack, Rev. Dachomo disclosed that all nine victims killed during the invasion were members of his extended family.

He lamented that the attack had left his family devastated, noting that women and children were among those killed during the assault on the community.

The cleric said the latest killings highlight the worsening insecurity confronting communities across Plateau State.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect vulnerable communities and ensure those responsible for the killings are brought to justice.

Community leaders have continued to urge both the Federal Government and Plateau State Government to strengthen security architecture in flashpoint areas.

Residents say repeated attacks have left many communities living in fear despite the deployment of security personnel.

The latest revelation has added a deeply personal dimension to the Riyom killings, with renewed calls for decisive action against those behind the recurring attacks. Authorities are yet to announce arrests in connection with the incident.
