President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to give his administration more time to complete the reforms and programmes it has initiated, saying the government is working to correct mistakes and missed opportunities inherited from previous administrations.
Tinubu made the appeal through Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who represented him at a special Juma’at prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The President’s message focused on the government’s reform programme and his administration’s argument that some of the changes being implemented require time to produce their intended results.
‘Give Us More Opportunity’
According to the President, his administration is working to address challenges inherited from previous governments while reversing what he described as accumulated mistakes and missed opportunities.
He appealed to Nigerians to remain hopeful about the country’s future and allow the government additional time to complete its programme.
