President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the nomination of Dr. Zainab Marwa to the Senate for confirmation as a member of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Governing Board.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the nomination of Dr. Zainab Marwa to the Senate for confirmation as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The nomination was formally communicated to the upper legislative chamber through a letter read during plenary by Senate President. According to the President, the nomination is in line with the provisions of the NDDC Establishment Act.

If confirmed, Marwa will represent the North-East geopolitical zone on the commission’s governing board. Her nomination comes as the Federal Government moves to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former board member, Abdulrazak Namdas, who stepped down in March to pursue his governorship ambition in Adamawa State.

The development underscores the continued efforts to maintain the operational structure of the intervention agency responsible for development initiatives across the Niger Delta region.

Following the presentation of the President’s request, the Senate referred the nomination to its Committee on NDDC for screening and further legislative action. The committee is expected to review Marwa’s credentials before reporting back to the Senate for final consideration.
