Davita, the fiancée of Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile, has revealed that the musician was unusually shy when they first met and asked another person to help him obtain her phone number.
She shared the story in a teaser for the couple’s wedding documentary, offering a glimpse into the early stages of their relationship and a more reserved side of the singer’s personality.
According to Davita, Zlatan did not approach her directly to ask for her contact details.
“To get my number, he asked somebody,” she recalled.
“He is very shy. People will not believe him,” she added, prompting laughter from the singer, who covered his face during the conversation.
The anecdote offers a light-hearted contrast to Zlatan’s public image as a confident performer known for his energetic stage presence and distinctive musical style.
Zlatan describes how he knew Davita was the one
The documentary teaser also featured Zlatan reflecting on his relationship with Davita and explaining why he believed she was the right partner for him.
The singer described her as “too perfect” and spoke about how meeting her completed what he believed God was writing in his life.
“She was the final thing that I saw that I knew that that story that said God was writing,” he said.
His remarks presented their relationship as an important personal milestone, with the couple reflecting on the circumstances that brought them together.
Couple share playful moments
Beyond the emotional recollections, the teaser featured a light-hearted quiz in which the couple answered questions about their relationship.
Davita pointed to Zlatan when asked who spent more money, while both pointed at each other when asked who was more stubborn.
The clip ended with the couple praying together, asking for continued guidance in their relationship.
“May we always find our way back to you and to each other, in Jesus’ name. Amen,” they said.
The preview has offered fans a glimpse into the couple’s relationship ahead of the full documentary, combining personal memories, humour and expressions of faith.
