The PDP chieftain says President Bola Tinubu, not Nigeria’s service chiefs, should be held accountable for ending insecurity within 90 days.

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George, has reacted to comments credited to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, regarding insecurity in Nigeria.

George stated that Pastor Adeboye should direct any 90-day ultimatum on insecurity to President Bola Tinubu rather than the country’s service chiefs.

According to the PDP chieftain, the responsibility for addressing insecurity ultimately rests with the President as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The remarks come amid continuing national concern over insecurity across different parts of Nigeria, including kidnappings, insurgent attacks, and violent criminal activities that have remained a major issue in public discourse.

By drawing a distinction between the responsibilities of the President and military leadership, George’s comments place renewed attention on constitutional authority and political accountability within Nigeria’s security structure.

He maintained that if a 90-day demand is to be made regarding insecurity, it should be directed at President Tinubu to either end the crisis within that period or resign from office.

The statement adds another political dimension to ongoing debates surrounding national security and the effectiveness of current government efforts to contain violence and criminality across the country.
